Instructions

    • 1

Choose a blue background paint, and cover the walls and ceilings with it. In a random fashion resembling the starry skies, stencil the whole room with tiny glow-in-the-dark star shapes in glow-in-the dark paint (see Resources).

    • 2

Find a good spot to paint a brightly colored rocket on the wall. Have your child sketch it out on paper first and have him also paint it on the wall.

    • 3

Build a rocket get-away in the corner of the room. Purchase and paint two large pieces of curved plywood. Attach them to the wall with brackets and leave a generously sized opening. Top the opening by creating a cone shape from thick mylar. Seal it with silicone adhesive and put soft pillows inside.

    • 4

Purchase rocket theme bed linens and bedside lamps, mirror and dressers (see Resources).

Tips & Warnings

  • Sand all edges on your plywood rocket before painting. They should be rounded to avoid scrapes and injuries
