Javascript errors occur when someone is trying to access a web page and a script on the page doesn't execute or run properly. These errors typically generate some type of error message. More importantly to most individuals, Javascript errors lead to the inability to view web pages.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Run the "Java Test" to see if your installation of Java is working. Visit the Java website (link provided) and look for the dancing Duke image. If you can see it, then your Java is working fine. If not, then you need to complete one or more of the following tasks.

  2. Step 2

Enable Java through your web browser. If you have Internet Explorer, follow this path: go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, click the box next to Java, Security Tab, Custom Level, Scripting of Java applets, click "Enable," and click "OK."

  3. Step 3

Visit the Java download page (link provided:Java Download Check) and see if you have the latest version of this software. If you don't have it, a message appears along with a link to download the latest version. Typically, updating your version will resolve errors.

  4. Step 4

Clear the temporary Internet cache by entering the tools section of your browser and deleting cookies, temporary files, and browser history. For most browsers, you simply mark the box in front of these words and click delete or you click "Clear My Private History."

  5. Step 5

Uninstall and reinstall Java if none of the above tasks worked for you.
