How to Make a Badge

Security is a priority in the 21st century. Businesses, schools and even households often require anyone entering the property to wear an identification badge. Badges are also worn for identification at conferences and meetings. Homemade badges are cheap and easy to make.

  • Self-laminating luggage tag
  • Glue stick or liquid glue
  • Scissors
  • Photograph

Instructions

      Type your information in an area approximately 3 by 2 inches. Leave room for a photograph if you would like.

      Print the information, and cut it to fit in a luggage tag.

      Glue your photograph to the information sheet, if desired.

      Insert your information sheet in the luggage tag as straight as possible.

      Press firmly to seal the luggage tag. Make sure that no air bubbles are trapped.

      Attach the tag's lanyard to a button on your shirt. You can also put a safety pin through the tag's hole and clip it to your shirt.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure your badge information is straight and centered before sealing the tag. Find self-laminating luggage tags in dollar stores, discount stores and office supply stores.

  • Do not make illegal copies of government-issued picture IDs.
