Instructions

1
Measure your windows. Open the window and measure from the inside of the groove in the window frame. Measure from the deepest point in the frame--not the edge of the window against the jamb.
-
2
Lower the top section of the window (for double hung vinyl window replacements). Measure from the top of the frame inside the jamb, to the bottom. In some cases you will need to completely remove the entire window to get an accurate measurement. If the tape measure has to bend around the windows, it will throw the measurement off by a as much as an inch.

3
Repeat the process on five to six windows of the same size. Determine the most consistent measurement to use when your order your vinyl replacement windows.

4
Contact a vinyl replacement window manufacturer and discuss your options. Consider energy efficiency and quality.
