Instructions

    • 1

Cut the sheet of pink card stock with a paper cutter to 8 1/2-by-5 1/2 inches. Fold it in half to make a base card 5 1/2-by-4 1/4 inches. Cut another pink piece to 4 1/4-by-3 1/4 inches and put aside.

    • 2

Cut a piece of baby-themed decorative paper with a paper cutter to 3 3/4-by-4 3/4 inches. Attach to the front of the base card with double-sided tape. Attach the smaller pink piece of card stock on top of the decorative paper, centered, with double-sided tape.

    • 3

With a pink marker, write "You're Invited" at the top of the front of the invitation. On the bottom, write "Baby Shower."

    • 4

With scissors, cut an oval out of white card stock and attach to the front of the invitation with double-sided tape. With a pink marker, write "It's A Girl!" on it.

    • 5

Add baby girl embellishments on the front of the card with a hot glue gun such as a lace bow or pink satin bow, pink hearts and baby buttons.

    • 6

On the computer in a Word program, create baby girl shower invitation details to fit within a 4-by-3 inch space, centered. Choose a child-like font and print in pink ink. Print, cut to size and attach to the inside of the invitation with double-sided tape. Suggested wording for the invitation:

      Lace & baby buttons,
      Pink ribbons & dolls,
      & Everything sweet
      Come to a
      Baby Girl Shower
      for
      Name of expectant mother
      Date and time
      Given by
      Name of hostess
      Address of hostess
      RSVP & hostess phone number

Insert in envelope, address to guest and mail.

Tips & Warnings

  • It's not necessary to make as many layers on the front of the card, but it does make a nice 3D effect. Embellishments can include snippets of pink yarn, baby girl printed ribbon and self-sticking foam stickers.
