How to Make Baby Girl Shower Invitations
When a baby girl is about to arrive, a shower for the expectant mother is an exciting occasion. As the hostess, create special layered invitations that shout " A Baby Girl Is Coming!" Pink paper, plain or decorated, themed embellishments and the details printed on the inside of the invitation will make this a memorable party.
Things You'll Need
- Pink card stock
- White card stock
- Decorated paper
- Computer
- Printer
- Scissors
- Paper cutter
- Double-sided tape
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
- Pink marker
- Embellishments
- Envelopes--4 1/2-inches by 5 3/4-inches

Cut the sheet of pink card stock with a paper cutter to 8 1/2-by-5 1/2 inches. Fold it in half to make a base card 5 1/2-by-4 1/4 inches. Cut another pink piece to 4 1/4-by-3 1/4 inches and put aside.

Cut a piece of baby-themed decorative paper with a paper cutter to 3 3/4-by-4 3/4 inches. Attach to the front of the base card with double-sided tape. Attach the smaller pink piece of card stock on top of the decorative paper, centered, with double-sided tape.

With a pink marker, write "You're Invited" at the top of the front of the invitation. On the bottom, write "Baby Shower."

With scissors, cut an oval out of white card stock and attach to the front of the invitation with double-sided tape. With a pink marker, write "It's A Girl!" on it.

Add baby girl embellishments on the front of the card with a hot glue gun such as a lace bow or pink satin bow, pink hearts and baby buttons.

On the computer in a Word program, create baby girl shower invitation details to fit within a 4-by-3 inch space, centered. Choose a child-like font and print in pink ink. Print, cut to size and attach to the inside of the invitation with double-sided tape. Suggested wording for the invitation:
Lace & baby buttons,
Pink ribbons & dolls,
& Everything sweet

Tips & Warnings
It's not necessary to make as many layers on the front of the card, but it does make a nice 3D effect. Embellishments can include snippets of pink yarn, baby girl printed ribbon and self-sticking foam stickers.
