How to Clear the Phone Call Log in Yahoo Messenger

Yahoo! Messenger is a popular instant messaging program that can also be used in conjunction with a headset to make or receive phone calls directly through your Internet connection. The phone number or Yahoo! Messenger ID of your incoming and outgoing calls is recorded by the program for later retrieval. If you no longer need your old call history, you can use an option in the Yahoo! program to clear it out.

Instructions

1. Turn on your computer and let the operating system load. Click on the Windows image on the toolbar at the bottom of the Desktop to bring up the Start menu.

2. Click "All Programs" and scroll through the list of folders. Click on the folder labeled as "Yahoo! Messenger." Double click the Yahoo! Messenger icon that will appear in the list of options.

   Wait for the new window to pop up on your screen and click "Messenger" located at the top left side. Scroll through the drop-down menu; click "Preferences."

   Find the list of options in the panel on the right side of the second window that appears. Click the link that says "Archive." Navigate your mouse pointer over to the left panel in the window and click on the button labeled "Clear Call History."

5. Click "Yes" when a message pops up, asking if you are sure you want to delete the history. Click "Apply" and then click "OK" to finish clearing out the Yahoo Messenger call history.

Tips & Warnings

• View your call history before deleting it by clicking on "Contacts" on the top toolbar. Choose the option that says "View Messages and Call History."
• Once your call history is deleted, it will be gone permanently with no chance of ever being retrieved later.
