Brochures are a great way to sell something or to highlight the important features or benefit of something. You can get a large number of brochures from a printing company but if you just need a single brochure you can make that yourself using a design program like Microsoft Publisher. In fact, you will be able to create a professional looking brochure with the templates that come with Microsoft Publisher. If you need just one brochure you will find that making that single brochure on your own is pretty simple.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Open Microsoft Publisher on your computer. Find the "New Publication" area on the left of the screen and click on "New from a design" and from that drop-down menu click on "Publications for print." From that drop-down menu click on "Brochures." This will bring up a list of brochure types that you can select, such as informational. You can view the different types and designs until you find one that you like. Once you find the design you like, click on "Preview" to open that type of brochure.

  2. Step 2

Select layout options. You can customize the layout of your brochure by looking at the "brochure options" area on the left of the screen. If you click on "page size" you can select either a 3- or 4-panel brochure. In the "brochure options" area you can also include a customer mailing address, a response form, and customization options for the colors and fonts on the brochure.

  3. Step 3

Add your text. The brochure template has placeholder text already on it that you will need to click on to replace with your text. Just click on the placeholder text and begin typing and it will disappear. The font size will automatically adjust to fit in the text box. You do not have to put text in all of the areas where there is placeholder text; instead just click on the placeholder text and backspace or delete to remove it from the brochure.

  4. Step 4

Add images. If you have special images that you want on the brochure you can include them instead of using the default art in the template. There are placeholder pictures on the template that you can right-click on. When you do that you will get a menu and you will need to select "Change picture" to insert your own image. Browse to the location of your image and click OK. You can do this for all placeholder images on the brochure. You can also just delete the placeholder images and leave a white space if you like.

  5. Step 5

Print your brochure. Once you have added all of your text and images you will be ready to print the brochure. You can print on regular printer paper or on special brochure paper. You can get special brochure paper from a local office supply store.
