1
Find out which tunnels the moles are using. Stomp on the existing tunnels, and see which tunnels reopen the next day. Mark the active tunnels.
-
2
Push down on the top of the tunnel with two finger to make a depression. Place the trap over this depression, centered over the tunnel.
-
-
3
Sink the trap into the ground until the foot rests over the depression. Push down on the plunger until the spikes sink into the ground.
-
4
Pull the handle straight up with a quick firm motion until you hear the metal catch lock in position.
-
5
Leave the trap alone until the metal catch has been released and the metal plate at the top of the spikes has dropped to ground level.
-
6
Lift the whole trap out of the ground and throw the dead mole into the trash.

Tips & Warnings
Wear work gloves to minimize the human scent on the trap. Try to trap moles in the spring before they multiply in the summer.
Always keep the safety pins in place when the trap is not in use.
