How to Create a Storybook Using Shutterfly

Shutterfly is an online photo hosting service. It is free to upload photos and keep online albums. It also offers products such as prints, cards, calendars, photo gifts and photo books. The storybooks at Shutterfly make a special gift and a treasured keepsake. To create a one-of-a-kind book, all you need is a computer and some digital or scanned pictures ready for uploading.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • Pictures saved on the computer
  1. Step 1

    Go to the Shutterfly website by either clicking on the Resource link provided at the end of this article, or by typing www.shutterfly.com into the address bar on your Internet page.

  2. Step 2

    Click on "Register" to sign up with Shutterfly. Once you have signed up, you can go to the Shutterfly page any time. Click on "member sign in" to enter your email address and password.

  3. Step 3

    Signing in will automatically take you to your My Shutterfly page. Upload photos from your computer using the "add pictures" feature.

  4. Step 4

    Click on "Photo books" to create a storybook. A page will load that allows you to choose the size you'd like. To create a photo book, click on the "go" button beside the 8-by-8 size storybook.

  5. Step 5

    Choose a cover type in the scroll-down section. Choose from soft, hard, padded or leather covers. A soft cover will be the cheapest; leather is the most expensive.

  6. Step 6

    Click on "Get started" to start creating the inside of your storybook. There will be tabs at the top of the page. These include: Style, Pages, Cover and Preview.

  7. Step 7

    Under the "Style" tab, there will be picture icons. Choose one you like and click on it. You can also choose a text font and a photo edge.

  8. Step 8

    Click on the "Pages" tab. Enter a title and a picture on the first page. Use the arrows to turn the pages and add pictures and text.

  9. Step 9

    Use the tabs at the side to choose layouts, backgrounds and edges for your pages.

  10. Step 10

    Preview your storybook when you are finished. Check for misspellings and errors.

  11. Step 11

    Order your storybook through Shutterfly.
