How to Make Jewelry Ring Sizers
Determining your proper ring size is an important step in selecting fine jewelry. A ring that is too small may get stuck on your finger, while a ring that is too large can easily slip off and get lost. If you can't get to a jewelry store to have your finger measured, it's simple to make your own ring sizer and determine your size at home. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Cut a piece of paper that's 3/4 inch wide and 6 inches long. If you have very small fingers, decrease the width of the paper so that it will wrap comfortably around the base of your finger where a ring would sit.
-
2
Mark the paper at 1 13/16 inches. Then, mark the paper at each subsequent 1/16 inch until you reach 2 15/16 inches.

3
Label the first mark a size 4. The next is 4 1/2, then 5 and so on. The last mark on the paper is a size 13.
-
4
Wrap the piece of paper around your finger, starting with the end nearest to the size 4 mark. Note where the paper begins to overlap. The measurement marked at the overlap point is your ring size.

Tips & Warnings
Measure your finger at the end of the day in a warm room. Cold temperatures cause fingers to shrink, and fingers tend to be smallest in the morning Once you find your ring size, tape the paper closed and slip it on and off to make sure that it slides comfortably over your knuckle.
