This is a fun and easy braided bracelet to make. Unlike many bracelets made with braiding cord, this project uses four strands of cord rather than the usual three strands. This bracelet looks best when woven loosely with two contrasting colors, such as black and white.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Cut four strands of braiding cord--two black and two white--about 36 inches long.

  2. Step 2

Even the ends of the strands up and tie them all together with a knot as close to the ends as you can. Tie the cords together again with another knot 3 inches further down the strands. This creates one of two tying ends for your braided cord bracelet.

  3. Step 3

Pin the second knot to a craft board. Alternately, use masking tape to secure it to a table top. Spread the four cords apart slightly with the black strands in the center and the white ones at far left and right.

  4. Step 4

Pull both white cords to the center, over and between the black ones. Cross one of the white cords over the other white one.

  5. Step 5

Bring both black cords to the center, over and between the white ones. Cross one of the black cords over the other black one.

  6. Step 6

Repeat Step 4 and Step 5 until you've create a braid about 6 to 7 inches long. Remove the bracelet from your working surface to see if the braid is long enough to fit around your wrist the way you want it to. If it needs to be longer, return it to the working surface and braid a little more. If it's too long, simply unbraid it a bit.

  7. Step 7

Tie all four braiding cords together with a knot at the end of the braided section. Trim the ends of the cords to a length of about 3 inches, and knot the ends all together. Trim off any unattractive excess braiding cord. This completes the second tying end of your braiding cord bracelet.
