Dissolve the green tea powder in the water to make the tea beverage and then pour it into your blender.

    • 2

Add the milk and the sugar.

    • 3

Blend the liquid ingredients with a few pulses.

    • 4

Add the ice. Blend until the ice is chopped, giving the liquid a smoothie or milkshake consistency.

    • 5

Pour into a serving glass and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use alternative sweeteners such as mascavo sugar, honey or maple syrup instead of refined white sugar for a healthier drink. You can add more flavor by including a shot of vanilla syrup before blending.

  • Avoid blending the drink too long. Stop just after the ice is incorporated. After too much blending, the drink becomes frothy and lacks texture.

I've tried this method. Doesn't have the right mouth feel. But all it takes is a pinch of xanthan gum to thicken it up properly.

This drink sounds really interesting. I do like green tea but never thought of it as a smoothie or anything else less traditional. I might try it sometime.
