How to Make Lock Picks Out of Paper Clips

• Large-sized paper clip
• Hammer
• Hard surface

   Bend the paperclip into the shape seen here by unfolding the bottom arm.

2. Place the paperclip onto a hard surface and pound the end of the paperclip with a hammer or other blunt object until it becomes flat.

3. Practice your lock-picking skills on old locks that you may have around the house before you rely on it to use as a reliable way to unlock a piece of locked property.

4. Know that a paper clip lock pick will only last for a few tries before it will effectively bend or break off.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't use plastic-coated paper clips as lock picks; the plastic coating can rub off inside the lock, causing it to jam.
