How to Kill Bees
Calling a pest control expert to handle a bee problem is always an option. However, taking care of the pests yourself is a good way to save money. If the nest belongs to the less-aggressive honey bees, you can also call a beekeeper to take it away, rather than killing them. Bees are important for pollination and ensuring the survival of crops. Does this Spark an idea?

Steps

1
Wait until evening or early morning to attempt to kill a nest of bees. They are less active at night and are not as likely to sting you.
-
2
Don your gloves and protective headgear if desired. If you are not allergic to bee venom and you've waited until a time when the bees are less active, you can choose to forgo the headgear. However, gloves are recommended when dealing with poisonous pesticides. You can also choose to wear a mask over your mouth to protect yourself from breathing in the chemicals.

3
Select an appropriate insecticide for your nest. There are a variety of these products available in gardening and hardware stores. Look for one labeled for flying insects, bees, wasps or hornets.
-
4
Read the instructions on your insecticide carefully. Some products might instruct you to apply them in a very specific manner, and some might require you to shake the canister.
-
5
Apply in short bursts to the nest's opening, and then cover the rest of the nest in insecticide. Some bees might come out of the nest; continue spraying the nest's opening until they cease to fly out. After you've applied the insecticide, vacate the area.

Tips & Warnings
If you discover the nest in the fall when the temperatures are dropping, extermination might not be necessary, because the cold weather will kill the bees.
Never spray insecticides in windy conditions. If you are allergic to bee venom, do not attempt to kill the bees yourself. Call a pest control expert instead. Do not use an insecticide inside the home that has been labeled for outdoor use only.
