How to Make a Bird Tube Feeder
Birds are good for your yard because they eat bugs and garden pests. They can also provide hours of entertainment. To attract a wide variety of birds to your yard, hang several feeders. Make your own simple tube bird feeders from a wire mesh for a fraction of the cost of store-bought feeders.
Instructions

-
1
Cut an 8-by-10 inch rectangle from ¼-inch from medium-grade wire mesh.
-
2
Cut two 2 ½ inch diameter circles from the wire mesh.
-
-
3
Roll the sheet of wire mesh to form a tube. Weave wire through the holes to connect the tube.
-
4
Place the circle of wire mesh over one end of the tube. Bend the edges to overlap the tube and fix the wire in place. Repeat with the top, leaving one half of the circle unattached. This will be the opening to add seed. Create a simple clasp or hook from the wire to use as a closure for the top.
-
5
Attach an 8-by-10 inch loop of wire to the top of the feeder as a hanger. Fill the feeder with sunflower seeds and hang it from a tree branch or plant hook.
