Bathtubs are useful for private time, soaking, reading or just relaxing. When using a bathtub, you are soaking for quite some time. Residue from soap builds up easily. Soap scum not only causes your bathroom to appear unclean but it could lead to injury when you slip on it. Dial Soft Scrub Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser, Tilex Soap Scum Remover, Scrubbing Bubbles Soap Scum Remover are some of the products that are available for this chore. You can locate these as well as other items in local department stores.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soap scum spray
  • Soft bristle brush
  • Scrubbing sponge
  1. Step 1

Drench the bathtub with soap scum spray. Spread evenly around the bottom as well as the side of the tub. If you have soap scum on your walls, spray those as well.

  2. Step 2

Let the cleaner sit for 15 minutes. Some products may require a set time; others are spray and wipe. Allowing the cleaner to sit on the tub for awhile will assist in the clean-up process, even for a spray-and-wipe product.

  3. Step 3

Use the brush. Scrub the tub in short strokes. Move in rows around the sides as well as the bottom. Continue to scrub until you wash the entire bathtub as well as the wall, if applicable. This will lift most of the soap scum off the tub.

  4. Step 4

Turn on the water to lukewarm. Use the sponge to wipe the bathtub. Scour the bathtub by pressing roughly, while rinsing it off. Wring the sponge out frequently. Turn the water off and push the remaining water and soap down the drain.
