If you have noticed some extra guests moving in with you lately it may be because of the weather. The weather has a huge affect on how bugs migrate. You will notice bugs in your house during the early spring/summer and again in late fall. Fortunately there are a few things you can do to help eliminate these pesky house guests.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Invest in a seasonal spray to cover the perimeter of your home. These should be an inside and outside spray. Spray along the door jams and anywhere that a bug might be able to enter.

  2. Step 2

Eliminate clutter in your home. Bugs tend to hide out in cluttered areas. Pick up anything that is on the floor in closets and bedrooms. This will keep the bugs from hiding out and inviting his friends over for a drink.

  3. Step 3

Assess the moisture in your home. If you have a damp room or basement, bugs like the moisture. You can purchase moisture reducers at most retail stores that help absorb the moisture in the air. A dehumidifier may work as well.

  4. Step 4

Keep your house clean. You may find that the only ones eating your leftovers are the roaches and ants. Keep your kitchen extra clean. Sweep or vacuum the kitchen a few times a week. Keep crumbs off the floor and keep the sink free of dirty dishes. That is not to say that you can't put dirty dishes in the sink, just refrain from leaving them in the sink for several days.

  5. Step 5

If the bugs are coming in from a particular outside source, eliminate it. It may be a pile of wooden boards or a trash can sitting too close to the house. Investigate and eliminate any sources of food for bugs, critters, roaches or ants.
