How to Give a Kitten a Bath
In general, cats are very clean animals. But most cats would benefit from a bath periodically, especially if any family members are allergic. Giving a kitten a bath can be a less-than-simple feat, but practice can make bathtime a more pleasant experience for you and your cat.

1
Place a small no-slip bath mat in the bottom of a sink. This will prevent the kitten from slipping around and getting upset. It will also help you control the kitten if it squirms.
-
2
Fill the sink with 2 to 3 inches of tepid to warm water.
-
-
3
Brush the kitten thoroughly before the bath.
-
4
Gently lower the kitten into the water and hold it in place by the scruff of the neck.
-
5
Use a small cup to moisten the kitten's body with water. Avoid getting water on its head.
-
6
Use a small amount of baby shampoo to wash the kitten's body. Lather gently from heat to tail.
-
7
Use a cup to rinse away the shampoo.
-
8
Dry the kitten thoroughly with a very soft towel.

Tips & Warnings
Do not bathe a kitten until it has been weaned from its mother unless absolutely necessary. Doing so will change the kitten's scent, and may cause the mother to reject it.
Kittens can catch a chill very easily. If you need to bathe your kitten, do so in a warm environment.
