How to Make Lemon Air Freshener

Lemon air freshener is easy to make with only a few basic ingredients, including essential oil, water, and a spray bottle. This recipe yields approximately four ounces of homemade lemon air freshener.

Things You'll Need

• Distilled water
• Small spray bottle
• Lemon essential oil

Instructions

1. Add four ounces (1/2 cup) of distilled water to a small spray bottle. Spring water may also be used but avoid tap water, if possible. Filtered water from the tap will work fine.

2. Add 80-120 drops (1/2 teaspoon) of lemon essential oil to the spray bottle to create your lemon air freshener. If you like, you can replace half of the lemon oil with another citrus oil, such as orange or lime. Add more or less oil depending on how strong you want the scent of your lemon air freshener.

3. Replace the lid on the spray bottle and shake well to combine the oil and water. Spray the spray bottle a few times to remove any air, and your new homemade lemon air freshener is ready.

4. To use the lemon air freshener, simply mist numerous times in the air. Always face the spray nozzle away from your face, as the oil can irritate sensitive areas such as the eyes and nose.
