Getting your blog indexed by Google is a key factor these days. Nothing surpasses the assurance that your information is reaching the targeted audience. For freelancers, who get paid by their page views, a 'non-indexed' article or a blog could make a lot of difference.

So how do you do a quick check to see if the Google spiders have crawled on your web pages?

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  1. Step 1

    Go to www.google.com.

  2. Step 2

Type the following on the search form.
    SITE:the URL of your blog
For example, if I'm trying to see if Ehow is indexed by Google or not, I would type SITE:http://www.ehow.com/
Remember, no spaces after SITE or the colons.
    Click Google search.

  3. Step 3

    Check the results.
If the website has been indexed, you'll find a search result. If not, you get a message that site:http://www.ehow.com/ does not match any documents.

  4. Step 4

    Indexing is very important.
If search engines don't find you, everything else, like your writing, internet, social skills all become redundant.
