How to Embellish Wooden Letters for Home Decor
Decorating your house with wooden letters is a wonderful way to convey a special message. The message could be a name, favorite quote or simply one letter. Wooden letters are particularly good because they are thick and hearty, but alone they are quite plain. Add your own personal touch by embellishing the wooden letters with paint, crystals or ribbon. Any ribbon will work, but for extra effect, match it to your curtains or furniture.

1
Clean the letter off thoroughly, removing all dust and dirt.
-
2
Use the paintbrush and paint to paint the letter completely. Paint every side including the back of the letter and make several coats of paint to achieve the desired opacity.
-
-
3
Allow the letter to dry completely.

Make a small dot of hot glue on the bottom edge of the back of the letter.
-
5
Stick one end of ribbon to the glue dot, right side of the ribbon up.
-
6
Wrap the ribbon tightly around the base of the letter in one complete circle. Continue to wrap the ribbon up the letter, either completely covering the bottom half of the letter or wrapping it sparsely.
-
7
Apply a dab of hot glue on the back of the letter and secure the end of the ribbon. Cut the exess ribbon off.
-
8
Apply a dab of hot glue at the top edge of the front of the letter.
-
9
Apply a crystal to the dab of hot glue.
-
10
Repeat Steps 8 and 9, covering the top 1/3 of the letter with crystals, applying just a few for sparkle or anything in between.
