If you love hash browns when you go out for breakfast, try making them at home. They are simple to make and don’t require a lot of time. Next time you cook eggs for breakfast, make some crispy hash browns to go with them. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Potatoes
  • Butter
  • Skillet
  • Spatula

Instructions

      Wash and peel three large potatoes. Wash and peel more depending on the size of your family.

      Put 2 tablespoons of butter in the bottom of your skillet. Let the butter soften while you move to the next step.

      Cut the potatoes into small pieces. Use a chopper if you have one. Add the potatoes to the butter. In your skillet, add 2 more tablespoons of butter.

      Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, flip your potatoes and add more butter if necessary. Continue cooking until your hash browns are golden brown. Remove from the pan and lightly salt.

Tips & Warnings

  • Serve the hash browns with ketchup, or sprinkle them with cheese before serving.

  • Try adding chopped onions or peppers while the potatoes are browning to add more flavor.

  • As with any hot food, take care when using the stove or Fry Daddy.
