Things You'll Need:
- Coloring Application Bottle or Color Application Brush and bowl.
- 1 pair of surgical or plastic gloves
- Old towel or plastic cape
- General Store Hair Color Kit, or Beauty Supplies Store. Example "Sally's Beauty Supply" sells to the public. Permanent Hair color tube=1= peroxide 20 volume or to only deposit some color without chang
- 2 large hair clips
- Shampoo of your choice, Conditioner of your choice
-
Step 1
Store bought complete color. Mix as directed into bottle hair color and peroxide. If using a bottle to apply, slightly squeeze the bottle just enough to release air and then shake up and down. If your using color tube and peroxide, it will say on tube equal parts or 2 to 1 mixing. In a bowl or bottle, mix until well blended.
-
Step 2
Place towel or cape around your neck and put your gloves on. Have your clips ready in case you want to use them. By using the tip of your applicator bottle or the sharp end of your brush applicator, you will divide your hair into 4 sections. From the center of your forehead slice straight down to the nape of your neck. Then slice from tip of your ear to tip of other ear. You should then have 4 sections. Clip back 2 sections.
-
Step 3
For a touch-up. Starting from the front take thin slices across from center towards ear, put color on the slice, use your finger to smooth and cover root area. Continue through front sections, and then back sections. After all 4 sections are done, put color just as you did on the slice all around hairline. If skin is extra absorbent, you can put cream or Vaseline to protect your skin around the hairline. If first time color. Section the same. Place color in slices the same only start from 1/4 inch away from the scalp, and cover to the ends. Wait about 20 minutes.
-
Step 4
Root touch-up. After 20 minutes, add 1-2 cap full, or 2-3 tablespoons of conditioner, or you can also use shampoo, to what's left of your hair color. Then, one section at a time add color and pull through your ends. Leave on 5-10 minutes to freshen the ends. If it is your first time coloring, go back and do your roots without adding shampoo or conditioner. Root area always comes up faster than the ends because of scalp heat. You can start applying 5 minutes sooner than you would a root touch-up. For first time color leave on 15-20 more minutes if your slightly changing your natural color. Make sure all is covered well.

Step 5
When waiting time is up, rinse, shampoo and condition. Wallah, your color should look great.
