It's one thing to clean your coffee pot, but cleaning your coffee maker makes all the difference in a great cup of Joe! Make your morning taste better by following these simple steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White Vinegar
  • Scrubby Sponge
  • Damp Cloth
  • Mild Dish Detergent
  • Warm Water
  • Paper Towels
  1. Step 1

Fill your coffee pot with white vinegar, and pour it into the coffee maker. Press start.

  2. Step 2

When the cycle is done, dump out the vinegar. Then run 2 cycles of plain cold water through to rinse out any left over vinegar odors.

  3. Step 3

Wipe down the inside area where you pour in water, with paper towels. Make sure you scrub out the hopper (where you put the fresh grounds) in warm soapy water. Be sure to get the area above it with the scrubby sponge, where the water comes out into the hopper. These areas are usually neglected, but important in maintaining your machine.

  4. Step 4

Wipe down with a sponge or damp cloth, all outside surfaces. Wash out the coffee pot, and lid, with the scrubby sponge to remove coffee stains on the glass. Rinse well, start a fresh pot of Java and enjoy better a tasting cup of coffee!

  5. Step 5

Wipe down with a sponge or damp cloth all outside surfaces.
