One of the biggest advantages to a dog kennel concrete floor is the ability to keep the dog kennel clean. You simply spray the dog kennel daily and disinfect weekly. It makes keeping a dog kennel floor easy. You also don’t have to move the dog kennel around your yard. Use this handy tutorial to learn how to build a dog kennel concrete floor.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1.5 bags of quick drying 80 pounds per cubic square foot
  • 2 by 4 wood to outline dog kennel
  • Shovel
  • Rake
  • Watering hose
  • Plastic tarp
  1. Step 1

    Select an area that you will place your dog kennel in your yard. Use an area with some shade available.

  2. Step 2

    Measure the area off to match the size of the dog kennel you will be placing on the property.

  3. Step 3

    Cut two by fours to outline the dog kennel area you measured. These will hold in the concrete.

  4. Step 4

    Clear the area of weeds, leaves, debris and rocks.

  5. Step 5

    Rake the dog kennel area to make certain that it’s level.

  6. Step 6

    Pour quick drying concrete inside the dog kennel area with the two by fours serving as the barrier to hold all of it in.

  7. Step 7

    Level the dry concrete inside the area.

  8. Step 8

    Use a hose with a light sprayer on it and spray one section at a time to get the mixture nice a wet.

  9. Step 9

    Level the mixture inside the dog kennel area again. Cover with a tarp until dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can slope the flooring to make it easier to clean the dog kennel.
