Things You'll Need:
- Bowdabra® Spring Ribbon Kit or any stiff Floral Ribbon and Curling Ribbon
- Spring Colored Beads
- Hot Glue Gun
- Measuring Tape
- Scissors
-
Step 1
Begin by gathering all the materials you will need for this project. You will be using both of the floral print ribbon spools from the Bowdabra® Spring Ribbon Kit. Or any stiff 1" wide floral ribbon and curling ribbon.
-
Step 2
Begin by cutting the two floral ribbon spools into 8" strips. You will need 12 strips of one style and 10 strips of the other style. Cut all the strips and set them aside.
-
Step 3
Lay 6 strips of the same style closely together. Then begin to weave 5 of the other floral strips back and forth between the 6 floral strips. Use hot glue to hold your woven rectangle together.
-
Step 4
Following steps 2 & 3 for another rectangle. The rectangles are the front and back of your Spring Purse. Make sure that the ends are secure and each rectangle is tightly woven and securely glued together.
-
Step 5
Fold a hem at the top of each rectangle and adhere it with hot glue. Crease the top of the hem and wait for the glue to dry before continuing to work with the rectangles.
-
Step 6
Cut a 24" piece of curling ribbon and knot the end of it. Thread "Spring" colored beads onto the curling ribbon and knot the other end. Hot glue the beaded handle to the front of one of the woven rectangles.
-
Step 7
Next, place the two rectangular ribbons pieces print-side to print-side. Use hot glue like a sewn seam and run a thin straight bead of glue along the sides and the bottom of the purse.
-
Step 8
Wait at least 10 minutes so that glue is thoroughly dried and then slowly and carefully turn the purse inside out. Easy woven "No Sew" Spring Purse is done and ready to wear!
