Things You'll Need:
- Distilled water
- Get from health food or natural grocery stores:
- -Alfalfa sprouts
- -Stinging nettle tea
- -Dandelion root tea
- -Organic unsulfured molasses
- -Kelp meal
-
Step 1
Steep two handfuls of alfalfa sprouts, two dandelion root teabags, two stinging nettle tea bags, and one teaspoon kelp meal in a gallon of hot distilled water for an hour or so. Alfalfa is chock full of full spectrum houseplant food and is a natural growth stimulator, dandelion is also full of healing minerals and nutrients for houseplants, stinging nettle makes plants strong against disease, and kelp makes sure every possible trace mineral is included in the houseplant food. It can sometimes boost blooming, so if you prefer to avoid any possible blooming, you can leave the kelp out of the mixture.
-
Step 2
Strain when cool enough but still warm. Mix in two tablespoons of unsulfured organic blackstrap molasses. Molasses has been called “sunshine in a bottle” as an addition to outdoor and houseplant food, and can greatly benefit all plants including houseplants.
-
Step 3
Cool and water your houseplants with your new houseplant food.
-
Step 4
Optional: During the steeping process, add the leaves and/or crushed stems and twigs from a willow tree. This is if you want more vigorous growth for the houseplants’ root system. Willow is a natural root stimulator.
