Make Green Cleaning Products For Pennies

Are you GREEN conscience? I find that when I go down the cleaning products aisle, all of the GREEN products are more expensive. How can I participate if I can not afford it? Maybe you are just tired of paying so much money for your cleaning supplies. Here are some great tips on how to do both.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Cleaning your toilet can be very inexpensive. If you have any Alka-Seltzer tablets...you can drop them in and when the fizzing has stopped, just use your toilet brush and clean away. If you don't have any of those tablets, you can use 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar. You will get the same fizzing action, when it is done, get cleaning!

  2. Step 2

Furniture polish is so expensive. You don't need those to get your furniture to shine. Add a few drops of olive oil into 1/4 cup of vinegar will do the job every time.

  3. Step 3

Need an all-purpose cleaner? Mix 1/2 tsp. of dish soap, 2 tsp. of borax and 1/2 tsp of baking soda in a empty, clean spray bottle with 2 cups of HOT water. You now have a spray for any purpose.

  4. Step 4

Windows are everyone's favorite job, right? In an empty, clean spray bottle filled with 2 cups of water, mix in 1/2 tsp. of dish soap and 1/4 cup of vinegar. Make sure you shake it up well and go clean...streak-free!

  5. Step 5

My least favorite job is cleaning the oven. Not only is the cleaner so expensive, it smells so bad! Well, here is a new, fume-free way to clean that nasty oven. You will first make a paste with 2 tbs. of salt and 1/4 cup of baking soda and water. Add a little bit of water at a time, stirring your mixture till it becomes a paste. After the paste is ready, use it every where in your oven BUT the heating elements. When you are finished, wait approx. 5 to 10 minutes. Just wipe clean with some warm water and you are done. A nice clean oven, and no headache from the fumes!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you clearly label your spray bottles.
  • Make sure you spray bottles are clean.
