Things You'll Need:
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Baby Oil or Mineral Oil
-
Step 1
First, use a brush to whisk out any hair out of the razor head area. Do this regularly, at least once a week.
-
Step 2
Next...build up of body oils, dead skin, etc. may not be readily visible to your eyes, but can dull the razor. So simply get some rubbing alcohol, take out the blades and/or screens of your razor, and soak them in the alcohol for ten minutes or longer.
For regular "maintenance" once a month you can just soak these parts in rubbing alcohol for a minute or two.
This will also kill any bacteria that builds up in your razor. -
Step 3
Take the parts out of the rubbing alcohol and let them dry fully. If you wish for them to dry faster use a hair dryer on them. Alcohol evaporates pretty quickly though so air drying should be fine.
-
Step 4
Add just a drop of baby oil or mineral to the parts. You don't want to use more than that, because you don't want it to run down into the shaver.
-
Step 5
Reassemble your razor.
