Heinz brand Chili sauce is found in a bottle in the isle with the olives and pickles in most grocery stores. At times I have had difficulty finding it, so that is why I inform you where it is located. You will notice sweet and sour sauce already made on the shelves for $5 and above for a 4 to 6 ounce container. That will not be as good tasting as your homemade sweet and sour sauce we will be making.

In your 2 quart saucepan, combine 6 ounces of the Heinz brand Chili sauce. That is 1/2 the bottle. Add 4 ounces of Smuckers concord grape jelly.

    • 3

Cook over low heat stirring constantly just until the mixture is thoroughly combined and warm. A whisk or spooon can be used to stir these two into each other to make your sweet and sour sauce. Serve warm or chill using as a dipping sauce for poultry, beef ribs, meatballs or pork. It can be used as a glaze over ham, lamb roast or anything you want to introduce the sweet and sour taste to in your cooking.
