Cleaning a cage can be easy, but not to all people. This is a quick and easy guide on how to do it correctly!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fresh bedding
  • Paper towels
  • Garden/dishwasher gloves
  • Hamster ball
  1. Step 1

Put your hamster in it's ball, and let it roll around. Make sure all doors in the area are closed. While it rolls around, put on gardening or dishwasher gloves on, and begin to scoop out the used bedding into an empty trash bag.

  2. Step 2

Wet a paper towel and wipe out dirt or urine (It's gross, but would you like YOUR house to have pee puddles all over?). Apply fresh bedding so it is 1 inch thick.

  3. Step 3

Throw the old water and food out in the trash. Refill the food bowl with fresh food and refill the water bottle/bowl with fresh water. Put the bed or item that you hamster sleeps in back, the wheel, and give it a fresh wood chew if it's a small one. Put your hamster back in it's cage, and let it enjoy it's fresh little floor!

Tips & Warnings
  • Put everything back in it's usual places so you hamster doesn't get confused
