Cook a Hard-boiled Eggs

This article will show you step-by-step how to cook a hard-boiled egg.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Eggs
  • Water
  • Stove
  • Pot
  • Spoon/Ladle
  1. Step 1

Remove your eggs from your refrigerator and place them next to the stove.

  2. Step 2

Find a pot that is big enough to place eggs into. The size of the pot depends on how many eggs you want hard-boiled.

  3. Step 3

Place the eggs into the pot.

  4. Step 4

Fill up the pot with water. You want to have at least 1 1/2 inches of water above the top of eggs.

  5. Step 5

Turn on your stove and place the pot on the correct burner.

  6. Step 6

Turn the burner on "Medium" and wait for the water to begin to boil.

  7. Step 7

Once you water is boiling, you will want to reduce the heat and simmer the eggs.

  8. Step 8

Let the eggs simmer for roughly 15 minutes before removing the eggs from the pot.

  9. Step 9

Use a large spoon or a ladle to remove the eggs from the pot.

  10. Step 10

Allow the eggs to cool down or gently run cool water over the eggs to cool them down right away.

  11. Step 11

Carefully peel your eggs and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • A ladle is larger than a spoon and makes it easier to remove the eggs from the pot.
  • If you are in a hurry you can run water over the eggs to cool them down.
