Prepare in advance by buying all of your supplies days ahead. This will give you room to brainstorm new ideas of how to make it more pleasurable. Also beforehand, find a babysitter for the occasion. You can even put the babysitter' s service on a gift card to be used when needed.

  2. Step 2
    Relaxing Cleanliness

    Relaxing Cleanliness

Cleanliness is the key to an enjoyable home spa experience. There isn't a mother that will enjoy a home spa experience if she is looking at dirty grout or thinking about the laundry waiting while she is suppose to be enjoying her home spa. Take care of all these details before hand, so she will enjoy! Clean up the house and especially the bathroom. (You may need to get a babysitter while you clean, so it can stay that way until she uses it. :)

  3. Step 3

Make your "Do Not Disturb" signs and write up your gift card notes of sweet thoughts, etc. to be left about the bathroom with her spa items. Set up her bathroom.

If you have all matching bathroom items, set them where they are convenient and useful. Be sure to take all price tags off, etc.

Set the flowers where they will catch her eye quickly.

Put towels and washcloths close to tub, arrange flowers and spa items in a decorative manner, etc. Make everything as convenient as possible.

Put a lighter by the candles. ;)

Have the music system ready to play.

Lay out her Robe and Slippers.

Set the Book in a noticeable place.

Make the tea (have sweetener etc. ready) or put the champagne on ice.

  4. Step 4

If you plan a relaxing massage, you may wish to get a separate room ready with a massage table, candle lighting, supplies such as towels, oils, hot stones etc. that will make it a pleasant experience.

  5. Step 5
    Aromatherapy massage

Get that ready by learning some of the techniques. (Clip your fingernails, oils and usage, different strokes etc.) Be sure to have more towels for a massage and put them where they can be usable.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure the room is warm.
  • Have relaxing music playing.
  • Home spa can become addictive. Watch for signs of addiction and allow her to have a home spa as often as desired.
