Hair coloring and foiling is a very good way to get, some major income rolling in your hair salon. Some people are a little intimidated by doing hair coloring and foiling, because they feel they aren't experienced enough.

If you are one of those people who are scared to do hair coloring and foiling. I will urge you to get some extra classes taken that will enable you to feel comfortable with hair coloring and foiling. You can begin doing foils today with the steps I am showing here and feel free to ask any questions.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Foils
  • Rat Tail Comb
  • Foiling Comb
  • Highlighting Lightener

  1. Step 1
    Leave out one section of hair
    Leave out one section of hair

    First, section clients hair into four sections. Equally part hair down the middle of your clients head. Use a clippie to secure three sections and leave fourth section out.

  2. Step 2
    Mix fomula for 2 minute foil set up

    Second, in the fourth section of the hair. Make a one inch horizontal parting. Clip the remaining hair in fourth section up with a clippie.
    Mix your highlighting formula as directed on your manufacturer's box.

  3. Step 3
    Grab the right amount of hair for foiling

    Third, Grab your foils sheets and split them down the middle equally. Then, fold a small pinch end of the foil to use for next step. Grab the one inch parting of hair to weave in and out with a rat tail comb or foiling comb.

  4. Step 4

    Next, grab one foil and input the end of the rat tail comb or the foiling comb into the folded foil end. Apply as close to the scalp as possible. Grab mixed formula and application brush to apply to the hair on the foil.

  5. Step 5

    Continue evenly throughout your clients entire hair and follow instructions accordingly with manufacturer preferences.

  • Always read directions on your products
  • Always watch time product has been left on your clients hair
  • Always use color care conditioners to help your highlights last longer
  • Always educate your clients before they leave on the best management for their service
  • Avoid over processing your clients hair
