Instructions

    • 1

Trace the child’s handprints on three different colored pieces of posterboard. Cut them out.

    • 2

Place a rolled-up ball of playdough into a small terra cotta pot. Attach the cut out handprints onto the tops of the drinking straws or pipe cleaners, which will create the “flower stems.”

    • 3

Insert the drinking straws or pipe cleaners into the playdough at varying heights to create a hand print flower bouquet. If you have some pretty ribbon, tie it around the terra cotta pot. You can also have the child paint the pot, if desired.

    • 4

Use a permanent marker to write the child’s name on the flower pot as well as the year so Mom will later remember the year it was received. You could attach a flower seed packet by either tucking it within the “garden: or stapling it to a card the child could make to accompany the gift.

Tips & Warnings

  • Let children do as many steps as possible because the gift will be more special when they feel they've participated.
