Prune a Fruit Tree
Prune a Fruit Tree

Expalins a way to prune a fruit tree so your tree grows nice fruit.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you have a fruit tree in your yard, and would like to keep growing or start growing some nice fruit from it,you should at least prune it once a year. The word prune means cut back and or trim. The tools you would need are a saw, possibly a ladder and pruners.

  2. Step 2

As the year goes on the branches on the fruit tree get longer, new branches start to grow, and at the end of the year or a month or two before the spring. This is when to prune the tree to get it ready to grow new fruit.

  3. Step 3

The reason why you need to prune the tree is so you can get some good fruit from it and so the sun hits the tree to help the growing process too.If you did not prune it and let the branches grow, these branches are taking nutrients, the sun and water away from the fruit tree to fully develop the fruit.

  4. Step 4

How you prune the tree is you cut 1 quarter to half of the main branches off and cut some of the smaller branches off the main branch,so those branches do not grow back. When you prune the tree you are cutting off the branches so new growth can grow and grow new fruit.

Tips & Warnings
