Easy and fast updo for a little girl. Perfect for weddings, and holidays!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clear rubber band, Curling iron, Hairspray, Bobby Pins.
  1. Step 1

If you don't know how to french braid hair, please check out my how to french braid hair article.

  2. Step 2

Make sure the hair is dry. Dirty hair makes for a better updo, and helps the style last longer. You can curl the hair with the curling iron, or put it into hot rollers. It is an optional step, but will help the hair hold longer.

  3. Step 3

Have the girl sit on a chair on her knees, facing you. Have her flip her head over or upside down.

  4. Step 4

Starting at the nape, take three small sections about 1/2-1 inch wide. Start braiding your small sections. As you braid, continue to add pieces of hair to your original braid. It is a simple french braid.

  5. Step 5

Once you have braided to the top of the crown, secure the hair into a pony tail with the rubber band.

  6. Step 6

You can leave the hair in the pony tail out, you can curl it with a curling iron, or you can secure the curls into place with bobby pins. Spray with hairspray and gentley smooth out any fly aways.

Tips & Warnings
  • Smoothing out each section of hair as you add it to your braid helps prevent fly aways.
