Step 1
To get a letter of recommendation, it is imperative to do well in the professor’s class. In fact, many professors require you to get an A in his or her class before they will even consider writing you one.
-
Step 2
You must attend the professor’s office hours or review session. This will help you get to know the professor better in smaller groups. Don’t be shy to speak to him or ask intelligent questions during those sessions, which will improve your chances of him remembering you.
-
Step 3
Ask the professor if you can write you a letter of recommendation early in the quarter or semester. He or she will tell you what you need to do in order for them to write one for you.
-
Step 4
Getting a letter of recommendation from a professor that knows you well is better than getting a generic one from a famous professor. Lots of positive interaction with the professor is the best way to get a letter of recommendation.
