Things You'll Need:
- Single edge razor blade
- WD-40
- Paper Towels
- All Purpose Cleaner (without alcohol)
-
Step 1
If the bumper sticker isn't old, weathered and crackled, it will be a lot easier to get it off in one piece. Start by sliding the edge of the razor blade under a corner of the sticker. Be sure to hold it at a fairly flat angle so you don't damage the paint.
-
Step 2
Slowly lift the corner so you can get a grip on it. You may need to run the blade along the separation point repeatedly to help cut away the adhesive from the surface.
-
Step 3
Be patient and pull the sticker back with steady but gentle pressure. If you pull too hard, the sticker will tear making the process take longer. Keep at it until you get the entire sticker removed.
-
Step 4
Good ol' WD-40!Next, you need to remove any remaining adhesive. If the sticker was on glass or metal it will be easier not only to remove the sticker itself but, to remove the adhesive as well. Spray WD-40 on the surface and rub it with a paper towel or shop rag. It's best to work small sections at a time.
-
Step 5
Once the adhesive has been removed, you will need to clean the surface, especially if it's a painted bumper. Spray a multi-purpose cleaner on the treated surface and wipe clean.
