How to Use Free WiFi

Free WiFi is offered by many establishments, but little instruction is given on how to access it. Follow these easy steps to utilize the free WiFi the next time it is available.

Things You'll Need:

• Laptop with Internet card installed.
• A location that offers free WiFi.

1. From the start menu at the bottom left of your computer desktop, scroll to "control panel" and left click to open it.

2. Left click on the "network and internet" listing within the "control panel" window.

3. Left click on the "network and sharing center" option in the "network and internet" window.

4. Of the displayed connections, left click on the "unsecured network" option. This may also be titled under the name of the establishment offering the free WiFi service. Click on the "connect" option at the bottom of the window.

5. After you are successfully connected, click on your internet icon located on your laptop's desktop in order to open your browsing options. This will allow you to utilize the WiFi you just connected to.

Tips & Warnings

• Most WiFi connections are unsecured, so it is not advisable to transfer private information while using these public internet connections (no banking information, internet buying, credit card disclosures).
