Coloring your hair red can be fun, bold, and a little sexy. It can also be hard to maintain! Red hair color can fade fast. So follow these tips to keep red hair color from fading.

Things You'll Need:

  • Conditioner
  • Color Treated Shampoo
  1. Step 1

    Before you color your hair red you should make sure your hair is conditioned well. A couple of days before you color your hair apply a deep conditioner.

  2. Step 2

    Do not apply the red hair color to hair that has been recently washed. The color will take to the hair better if you have not washed your hair in about 24 hours.

  3. Step 3

    After you apply the color only wash your hair every other day. This will help keep the red hair color from fading.

  4. Step 4

    When you do wash your hair make sure you use a color treated shampoo.

  5. Step 5

    Wash and rinse your hair with cold water. Hot water will cause the red hair color to fade faster.
