Know If You're Blocked on MSN Messenger

Monday night frustration. You noticed that this one hot chick, who was probably a dude anyway, hasn't been online in weeks. This seems unlike her/him, as he/she was online every day the few weeks before. You're probably beginning to think he/she blocked you...Well, here's how you can tell.

Things You'll Need

  • MSN Messenger. Current version seems to work.

Instructions

First step, in the MSN Messenger window, hit the "alt" key, to display the File/Contacts/Actions/Tools/Help window. Select "Tools". There's is a very large variety of other options in here, but we're only going to focus on one of them.

Scroll to the "Privacy" tab. On the left is an "Allow" list. Scroll to the name of the person who you believe blocked you, and right click his name. If you get the option to "Delete", it means he has blocked you. It's okay, though, you're probably better off, as she was more than likely a he, and an ugly one at that. Or an undercover FBI agent. A female on the internet is a myth, so fear not.

Well, if they've blocked you, go ahead and delete them. Truly, it's a waste of space. They're not likely to ever unblock you ever again.

Tips & Warnings

  • Based on recent experience, it works on 8.1 and up.

  • Not everybody who comes up with the "Delete" option is someone who's blocked you. Sometimes, it just randomly pops up for no reason at all.
