Oh how odors can drive you nuts! Especially when having people over, there's nothing more embarrassing than having some bad odor stink up the house. Whether that comes from pets, kids, kitchens, basements, ect. Does this Spark an idea?

      Make sure you clean your fridge!

      Most the time this is how odors develop, when there's a lot of old foods, outdated milk, or cheeses that are in your fridge. Mold developing on some foods. They really start to stink up the kitchen. Take every thing out of the fridge, wipe it down with some bleach if the odor is that bad. Or a soapy sponge, maybe. Let it dry before putting foods and drinks back in. Wipe it down nice and clean, throw things out that are old and outdated. Try to keep fresh foods in and remember to clean your fridge about once a month, or two.

      See where the odor coming from.

      That's a key to locate where exactly. Is it the couch, rug, kitchen, where? Try sniffing out and finding out where it's coming from for certain.

      Make sure you clean the trash can.

      Remember to clean the trash can out, about every once a month or so. This is the easiest place where, or how odors develop. Rotten foods in the trash. Use some ammonia or bleach to clean out trash cans, remember to get the bottom of the trash can good.

      Check for carpet stains.

      Maybe a pet, or a little toddler peed on the carpet somewhere. Or some kind of drink was spilled, that was never cleaned up. Use some kind of enzymatic cleaner, or ammonia to remove the odor. Get a wet sponge, and use baking soda to remove the stain. If you feel the odor is coming from the carpet, but can't find it. Buy a black light and use that to spot the stains.

      Get some Air freshener.

      This won't eliminate extremely strong odors, but I guess it's good try to keep the air clean and fresh. Especially if you, or someone smokes a lot. Keeps the house smelling decent.

      Clean the house regularly.

      Maybe the house in general is dirty and needs cleaned more often. Vacuum the carpets more, mop the floors. Wipe down counters and sinks. Clean the bathroom regularly.

      Keep your pets clean.

      Clean your furniture.
