Do you want to save money on denim jeans? Being able to stretch denim jeans will give you longer wear for these popular pants. Regardless if you’re male or female, jeans that won’t zip can be a great source of irritation. You might be tempted to buy another pair. Instead of going up in size, you can stretch denim jeans to save money and make them last longer. How do you stretch denim jeans?

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Denim Jeans
  • Doorknob
  • Several pieces of string
  • Two bricks
  1. Step 1

Remove denim jeans from the cold water spin cycle. You want the pants to completely spin before you take them out of the washer.

  2. Step 2

Loosely tie several pieces of string to the belt loops of the denims. Secure the pants to a doorknob handle.

  3. Step 3

Stretch the denim jeans out as far as you can. Lay several bricks on them. Let the pants remain like this for approximately one hour. Repeat steps two and three twice more.

  4. Step 4

Once the denim jeans have gone through the doorknob and brick stretching it is time to put them on. Don’t try to button them. Zip the jeans half-way.

  5. Step 5

Stand with your back flat against a wall. Do several stand to sitting squats in a row. Then lift each knee to your chest several times in a row. Repeat this step four times. Your denim jeans should be a breeze to snap and feel great on you!

Tips & Warnings
  • Stretch denim jeans the night before you want to wear them instead of waiting until the last minute.
  • Never dry denim jeans on high heat or wash in hot water.
