Step 1
First look at the scooters and other riding toys that your children have or want. These can be hazardous if they topple over so make sure that along with these toys your child wears safety gear such as helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads. Also be watchful that they do not ride in the street or on sidewalks when there are cars about or about to back out.
-
Step 2
Next be cautious of any toys with small parts. These can easily poke the kid, end up in noses, ears, or mouths. It is amazing what kids will do. I even saw a kid end up in clinic for a pea up their nose. If you have any toys with small parts make sure the child is constantly supervised.
-
Step 3
Be wary of balloons. When they break they can leave behind shreds of latex or plastic hat a kid can swallow.
-
Step 4
Another toys hazard is magnets. They can become trapped inside the body and twist or pinch the intestines.
-
Step 5
Additionally chargers and adapters can pose burn hazards so make sure children are supervised.
