Things You'll Need:
- You don't need much, just money to buy it!!!!!!
-
Step 1
Think of what you intend the four wheeler to be used for! Is it going to be used for recreation or work? Sand dunes only or mountains? Will it be use for working on a ranch or for everything?
-
Step 2
If sand dunes, then a higher powered sport two wheel drive would be the option! Models like the, Yamaha raptor, or Honda 450, would be awesome at the dunes! Mountains? You would probably want a four wheel drive model like the, Yamaha Grizzly, Artic Cat H1, or a Polaris.
-
Step 3
Sport models are for play and do not come with a lot of options for accessories, so at this point we will only look at the 4x4 model as they are the most popular!
-
Step 4
Pick a model with enough power to do the things you want! Choose a engine cc that is large enough to perform without over working the four wheeler! Inform your local dealer on what you intend to do with the atv so he can help guide you to what is right! Ask a friend or neighbor how they like their own and if it does all that they want!
-
Step 5
Price shop and compare prices of as many, atvs in the class you have chosen, as you can! A one stop atv store is great for this as they have many manufactures of different brands under one roof!
-
Step 6
Go home before you buy! Think about what model you like? Then surf the web and see if there are any reviews or problems that people are talking about on the models of atv or four wheeler you are looking at! Compare as many as you can!
-
Step 7
Last but not least, test drive the models of atv you have chosen and compare how they feel as far as power and handling! Make sure the four wheeler fits you and you can handle it easy! This will make a difference when riding all day long! Believe me!
-
Step 8
Buy the one you like! Accessories like, a plow, winch, gun case, or packs can be added at anytime in any configuration after the purchase! Get out there and ride! I hope this helps in your decision! Rate or recommend if you like! Thanks! Have fun!
