Things You'll Need:
- Time
-
Step 1
Idea #1. Plan a Mother's Day breakfast or brunch. You can make reservations at a local hotel or resort. Restaurants usually have special dining arrangements on holidays. If you want to save some money, do it at home and invite everyone over.
-
Step 2
Idea #2. Most women love being pampered, especially on Mother's Day. A gift certificate for a massage, facial or mani/pedi never gets old. You also don't have to spend a fortune. A lot of massage chains offer introductory prices, as low as $39 for an hour massage. See resources below. If you want to save even more money, pamper her at home with breakfast in bed. Get her favorite magazines and run a relaxing bath. Make a CD with her favorite songs and play them in the background. Rent her favorite movies, get her favorite snacks, plan lunch and dinner and let her relax the whole day. Make sure to fit in a foot massage.
-
Step 3
Idea #3. Plan a trip. If you are up for celebrating Mother's Day away from home, plan a weekend trip that includes whatever the "mom" likes: hiking, casino, shopping, etc. Want to spend less, try a day trip. Maybe go to the mountains, the lake or somewhere that feels far away. Take a picnic lunch for the whole family.
