Things You'll Need:
- Manufacturer's recommended grout and tile cleaner
- Mop
- Bucket of warm water
-
Step 1
Sweep the tiled floor and dispose of dirt and dust. You can use a vacuum cleaner, however it is recommended that you adjust the vacuum cleaner carpet height adjustment on its highest setting off the floor so that the beater bar does not dull the surface of the tile flooring. Or, use a vacuum cleaner with no beater bar.
-
Step 2
Check the tile manufacturer's recommended cleaning instructions, then mop the tile floor using their recommended tile and grout cleaner. If you see stains or areas of heavy soiling, spot-clean with a rag or sponge and the recommended cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleansers, powders, and steel wool.
-
Step 3
Rinse thoroughly with warm water. If you see areas of the tile flooring that are still somewhat dirty or stained, you can apply other types of cleaners for mildew removal or hard-water staining. Check your tile manufacturer's instructions first before use.
