Things You'll Need:
- your fingers
- your nose
- your face
-
Step 1
Be prepared. When you feel a sneeze coming on, you must remember this technique quickly. You only have a second or two to act.
-
Step 2
Find the two small ridges right below your nose, above your upper lip. It's the two ridges that make up the little dip everyone has on their upper lip.
-
Step 3
Using your pointer and index finger, press lightly on each ridge, one finger per ridge. Press slightly upward and inward. Do not press too hard, or your eyes could start watering. That is just as annoying as sneezing, trust me.
-
Step 4
Keep applying pressure until you feel the threat of your sneeze abate completely. You can vary the pressure depending on how your body is reacting. Sometimes it takes a bit more than others, sometimes only a light touch will do.

on 11/9/2009 I've tried this one. It also helps to press the tip of your tongue to the front roof of your mouth (the alveolar ridge). Sometimes, though, the allergies get so bad that it hurts terribly to hold it in. :)
I'll keep it in mind every time, though. Thanks for the tips. 5*
