Make New Green Bean Casserole

Green bean casserole can be cooked in a variety of ways, but all of the recipes are about the same. Green bean casserole has almost become a family tradition of sorts, being served for every major holiday. I love green bean casserole, but these taste AWESOME and are different then the same ol' thing. Try making these bacon & garlic green beans.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 bag of frozen green beans
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 lb of bacon
  • 2 tsp olive oil (optional)
  • salt & pepper
  1. Step 1

Place green beans in saucepan and add enough water for vegetables to cook. Simmer on low until desired tenderness. Green beans can also be cooked in vegetable steamer bags to shorten cook time.

  2. Step 2

Cut bacon into bite-size pieces. Cut garlic into very fince pieces or mince.

  3. Step 3

Cook bacon & garlic in fry pan on low heat until bacon is preferred crispness. Bacon can be tender or crisp. Drain grease from pan or remove bacon & garlic from pan with slotted spoon.

  4. Step 4

Mix all ingredients together in desired serving bowl or dish. A few tsp of olive oil can be added, but not neccesary. Add salt and peper to taste and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add more or less bacon to preference.
  • Replace iodized salt with sea salt instead.
  • Use minced garlic in place of garlic cloves.
  • Don't overcook the green beans.
  • Be careful of grease spatter.
